I didn't like this book as much as Hawaiian Seashells. It doesn't give any description of the shells except the common name, scientific name, and in some cases the size. It does have a photo of each shell which is always a plus, although the photo quality isn't great. The two things that I really liked about this book is that it shows a few cowries side by side that are commonly confused and it has a two page spread of shells that are only found in Hawaii.

The 1972 Quirk & Harrison booklet has good information on where the illustrated shells are found (depth range and type of seabed bottom), whereas the 1974 Quirk & Wolfe doesn't. In defense of the later booklet however, it does illustrate a few more species than the first one.
